EDMONTON - The Edmonton Elks announced Monday the signings of Americans Marloshawn Franklin Jr. (DB), Ky'el Hemby (DB) and Antonio Mitchell (DB).

Franklin has previous CFL experience from pre-season stints with the Ottawa Redblacks last year and B.C. Lions in 2019. Hemby played three years (2018 to 2020) of NCAA Division I football at Southern Mississippi, following one season at Iowa Western Community College in 2017. In 34 career games with the Golden Eagles, he recorded nine interceptions. He ranked third in the nation with six interceptions in 2018 when he was named to the All-Conference USA Second Team.

A former high school football player at Vista Murrieta in California, Mitchell competed as a sprinter collegiately, with the track and field teams at Riverside Community College (2017-19), Arizona State University (2019-2021) and Purdue University (2021-22).
