Edmonton release four players from practice roster

EDMONTON - The Edmonton Elks have signed Americans Jaylen Hall (WR) and Zane Pope (WR) to the practice roster, the club announced Sunday.

As a graduate student in 2022, Hall appeared in 14 games for Western Kentucky University, where he had 68 receptions for 869 yards and six touchdowns. The Macomb, Mich., product previously played at Western Michigan University from 2018 to 2021, totalling 85 catches for 1,532 yards and 14 touchdowns in 43 career games for the Broncos.

Pope played four years of NCAA Division I FBS football with Fresno State, recording 129 receptions for 1,738 yards and 11 touchdowns. As a senior in 2022, Pope was a Phil Steele Fourth Team All-Mountain West selection. The six-foot-two receiver attended Kansas City Chiefs minicamp earlier this year.

Additionally the Elks have released Nationals Mike Dubuisson (LB) and Olivier Charles-Pierre (DL), along with Americans Darel Middleton (DL) and Khalil Tate (QB).

Edmonton returns to action on Thursday, when the Elks travel to Winnipeg to take on the Blue Bombers at IG Field. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. MT.
