EDMONTON - The Edmonton Elks have signed National linebacker Kevin Francis, the CFL club announced Tuesday.

The 28-year-old Toronto native led the CFL with 22 special teams tackles last season, when he appeared in all 18 games for the B.C. Lions.

Francis has recorded 18 defensive tackles and 61 special teams tackles in 82 career CFL regular season games over six seasons. Before joining the Lions, he played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders (2016-2018 and 2021) and Ottawa RedBlacks (2019).

Francis was a tight end during his four-year college career at North Carolina A&T, recording 17 receptions for 163 yards. He was drafted as a Round 3 supplemental pick of the Roughriders in 2016.
