EDMONTON - The Edmonton Elks have released American Dwayne Thompson II (DB), the club announced Monday.

Thompson started eight games for the Green and Gold this season, registering 27 defensive tackles. The Michigan native signed with the Elks on April 23.

Following a bye in Week 17, the Elks will return to action against the Toronto Argonauts at BMO Field on Oct. 6 at 5:00 p.m. MT.
