TRANSACTION | Elks make roster moves
Jermaine Gabriel released from active roster
EDMONTON – The Edmonton Elks have announced several roster moves following Day 1 of practice, as the team prepares for their September 28 matchup with the Ottawa RedBlacks.
Among Friday's moves was the release of defensive back Jermaine Gabriel. The CFL veteran appeared in five games for the Elks this season. Prior to joining Edmonton, the former Calgary Colt spent sevens seasons with the Toronto Argonauts.
The Elks also announced Friday that Defensive back Josh Woodman and wide receiver Chris Osei-Kusi have both been added to the club's practice roster. The pair were signed by the Green and Gold back on September 21.
