MEDIA RELEASE | Spruce Grove declares Monday, May 18 Green and Gold Day
The city officially passed the proclamation ahead of 2026's Fan Day, presented by Cooper Equipment Rentals
SPRUCE GROVE — Spruce Grove is officially Green and Gold.
Ahead of 2026’s Fan Day, presented by Cooper Equipment Rentals, Spruce Grove mayor Jeff Acker and city council have issued an official proclamation declaring Monday, May 18 as Green and Gold Day.
“We are super excited. The entire community is abuzz with Fan Day, and coming out here on Monday on the long weekend just to support our incredible Elks," Spruce Grove Mayor Jeff Acker said. "It just brings families together. I know the kids have been excited all week. We can't wait to see Fuhr Sports Park packed."
The Edmonton Elks will head to Fuhr Sports Park for a full team showcase, giving fans a glimpse of what the 2026 squad could look like. Expect the regular Fan Day staples, with food trucks on site, plenty of family-friendly activations, and a full-team autograph session to conclude the event.
The Elks are also collaborating with the Capital District Minor Football Association to continue their support for amateur football by hosting a Football Jamboree on the accompanying field at Fuhr Sports Park.
The club made the decision to host Fan Day in Spruce Grove as a part of their ongoing commitment to extend their impact throughout all of Northern Alberta. As a part of the festivities leading up to Fan Day, the Elks will host community visits at local Spruce Grove schools to share the excitement about Monday’s event.
In addition to all of the activities at Fan Day, Elks fans will be able to support the Spruce Grove Food Bank through contributions to this season’s Purolator Tackle Hunger initiative.
