MEDIA RELEASE | Saturday's Western Final has surpassed over 30,000 tickets sold

Saturday's game against the Lions is on pace to be the most attended playoff game in Edmonton in over 20 years.

EDMONTON – Saturday's game at Commonwealth is going to be a special one.

As of 9:00 pm on Wednesday night, the Elks officially surpassed 30,000 tickets sold for Saturday, Nov. 7th's Western Final presented by Wegovy against the B.C. Lions. The game is on pace to potentially be the most attended CFL playoff game in Edmonton in over 20 years.

The last home playoff game in Edmonton was the 2015 Western Final against the Calgary Stampeders, a contest where the Esks defeated the Stamps by a 45-31 score in front of 34,414 fans at Commonwealth. The last time the Green and Gold drew over 35,000 fans for a home playoff game was 2004's West Semi-Final against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, where 37,359 were in attendance.

Saturday's game will be the third time this season the Elks have opened the upper bowl, with kickoff slated for 5:30 pm MT.

The Play Alberta Field at Commonwealth Stadium upper bowl was originally closed for the 2024 season to enhance the gameday experience and bring fans closer to the action. The Club has since opened the upper deck to the general public on two other occasions this season: Aug. 1 vs. the Saskatchewan Roughriders (31,757 attendance) and Sept. 12 vs. the Calgary Stampeders (31,531 attendance).

Tickets for the Western Final presented by Wegovy are on sale, and fans can secure their playoff tickets HERE.
