Edmonton Elks to host Purolator Tackle Hunger Game Day Food Drive at home opener, June 8

EDMONTON — Media are invited join Purolator Tackle Hunger Champions and members of the Edmonton Elks at Edmonton’s Food Bank this Thursday, May 30, for a tour of the facility.

The event is taking place ahead of the Elks’ home opener against the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday, June 8, where the Elks will host the annual Purolator Tackle Hunger Game Day Food Drive. Last year’s Purolator Tackle Hunger Game Day Food Drive raised more than 50,000lbs of food for the local food bank.

Media will have the opportunity to capture vision and photos of the facility tour, as well as interviews with Purolator Tackle Hunger Champions, Elks players and food bank representatives.

Elks players in attendance will include Purolator Tackle Hunger Ambassador J-Min Pelley, Javon Leake and Kurleigh Gittens Jr., along with alumni Matt O’Donnell, Andrew Jones and Justin Sorensen.
