Elks announce family-focused 2024 game themes, activities

Single-game tickets available now for all EE regular season home games

EDMONTON — Football fans new and old can expect plenty of fun this season at Commonwealth Stadium, as the Edmonton Elks announced the Club's 2024 game day themes on Wednesday, along with the launch of single-game ticket sales.

The upcoming season is Edmonton's 75th, and while history will be a key theme throughout 2024, attracting the next generation of football fans is the focus of the team's game themes and game day activities.

Highlighting the upcoming season is the launch of Elks Fan Park, which will serve as the epicentre for all pre-game activities at the stadium. The new fan area, coupled with family-focused themes, are set to provide options for fans young and old to embrace the fun that is football culture.

Full details on the Green and Gold's 2024 game themes, which include new theme games like Dino Day (July 14), and returning favourites like Family Day (September 7), can be found below.

One of the best options for fans looking to ignite the love of football is with a youth season seat for just $75 (17 and under with any adult season ticket). In addition to season seat options, fans can also enjoy the Love to Hate 'Em three-game action pack, or single game tickets starting at just $22.

FAN No. 18-MILLION COMING SOON

Since 1949, millions of football fans have been the foundation for our success at both Clarke Stadium and for 45 seasons at Commonwealth Stadium.

This season, the Club will welcome the 18,000,000 fan to an EE game. That milestone isn't too far on the horizon, as the team is 68,676 away from reaching the historic mark.

PRE-GAME FUN ALL SEASON LONG

2024 GAME THEMES

It's time to kick off our 75th season in style. Join us at Commonwealth Stadium and enjoy a true football celebration, as we honour some of the biggest legends in Club history. It'll also be the debut of our new Elks Fan Park.

Highlights:

  • We're assembling the largest EE Alumni autograph session in Club history pre-game inside the fieldhouse.
    • Join us from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. and snag some of autographs from some of the best to ever wear the Green and Gold.
  • Soak in some history with our salute to 75 halftime show. With so many big names in town, we can't wait to reintroduce them to the Commonwealth Stadium faithful.

What's the 411 on Week 2 of the season? Well, it's 90s night as we take on the defending Grey Cup champion Montreal Alouettes. 90's music throughout the game, so if you're looking for any of the stuff the kids are listening to, just talk to the hand.

Highlights:

  • 90s cover band performing live in tailgate pre-game.
  • 90s themed dance extravaganza at halftime.

Kids love dinosaurs. Adults also love dinosaurs. Why not make a day of it!? This will be a fun one, as we go prehistoric against the Ottawa Redblacks for some light-hearted fun on Dino Day.

Highlights:

  • Dinosaur activities throughout Elks Fan Park pre-game.
  • We're hosting the world's first inflatable t-rex combine at halftime, presented by Travel Drumheller. The winner receives everything needed to enjoy a dinosaur inspired weekend in Drumheller!
    • Keep your eyes on Elks social media for your chance to win a spot in this (pre)historic event. We can't wait to see the 40-yard dash!

A staple on our theme calendar, our Indigenous Celebration game is back in 2024. After debuting our indigenous themed logo last season, it proudly returns to our helmets and centre field when we host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Highlights:

  • Indigenous makers market inside the fieldhouse pre-game.
  • Our friends at Dancing Cree are back with a halftime performance you won't want to miss, as they introduce you to the next generation of dancers.

Saddle up for a small town good time as we turn Commonwealth into Alberta's biggest honky-tonk. Y'all better dust off your boots, bust out the Wranglers and have some Country Day fun against the B.C. Lions.

Highlights:

  • The Elks Bull Riding Not-so-Invitational is back! Swing by Fan Park and hang on tight as you ride our mechanical bull for a chance to win.
  • Small human, meet small animal. Visit our petting zoo and feel like you're on the farm...without having to clean up!
  • Country music in tailgate to get you in a country state of mind.

Say it with us...Anybody. But. Calgary. This game needs no introduction, as we take on the Calgary Stampeders for a Family Day edition of the Labour Day Rematch.

Youth 17 and under get in free with a paid adult, so teach the next generation of fans their ABCs without breaking the bank. We're also letting the kids be part of the show, because nothing bad has happened with an eight-year-old and a live mic!

Highlights:

  • Meet your favourite princess and superheroes inside The Brick Kids Zone.
  • Experience Cheer is back, with more than 300 participants joining the CFL's best cheer team for a halftime performance that's become a crowd favourite.

The party returns, as Campus Clash is back for a second season! Last year the SwiftEEs were out in full force, as our college themed party was hit with University of Alberta, MacEwan, and NAIT students.

$15 tickets for post-secondary students return in the north endzone, along with food and drink specials.

Highlights:

  • Come listen as the next generation of musicians take part in our battle of the bands on the tailgate stage.
  • After giving away a trip to see the biggest act in music last year, now we're working on something just as big for 2024! Stay tuned for full details as we approach September 21.
    • This time students will have to beat not only their peers, but also alumni. Bring your best, baby boomers!

Unlike the NFL, our games aren't scripted! But that doesn't mean we don't love a Hollywood ending. We're rolling out the red carpet — for you, not the Roughriders — on Hollywood Night.

Highlights:

  • Super hero laser tag inside the Kids Zone.
  • Walk the red carpet and strike a pose as you enter the stadium at gate 2.

Here's your chance to dress up like a giant football without people giving you funny looks (sorry Punter, we still love you). Our Halloween themed Spooktacular game caps off our regular season schedule against the Toronto Argonauts.

Highlights:

  • Pumpkin carving and pie eating contests in tailgate.
  • Trick or treating stations around the concourse.
  • You picked the best ever to wear Green and Gold, now we're unveiling the EE All-Time Team.
