Need to know

The Elks and Stampeders are set to meet four times during the 2022 regular season. It'll mark the 14th time the two clubs have met exactly four times in the regular season and the first since 2009 when Edmonton went 1-3 against the Stamps. If you think four meetings with the Stamps is a lot, the pair squared off six times annually in the regular season from 1949-1953.

  • 115-81-4 all-time (62-36-1 home / 54-45-3 away)

Edmonton travels to B.C. Place Stadium in Vancouver for two regular season games for a second consecutive season. 2022 will mark just the second time ever that the Green and Gold open and close the regular season against the Lions. The only other time came back in 1992 when Edmonton met B.C. four times, going 2-2 with wins coming Week 1 and 18.

Head-to-head (reg. season)

  • 122-93-2 (74-34-2 home / 48-59-0 away)

  • Week 15: Friday, September 16 @ Mosaic Stadium - 7:30 p.m. MT

Need to know

The second week of the season provides another chance for Edmonton to snap their recent and unusual skid against the Riders, as the Elks have dropped five straight to Saskatchewan. It marks the first time since 1970 that Edmonton enters a season with an active losing streak of at least five games against the Riders, who earned narrow victories over the Double E back-to-back weeks in 2021.

Head-to-head (reg. season)

  • 102-89-3 (59-35-2 home / 43-55-1 away)
  • 0-3 in 2021 (37-22 loss Week 7 / 30-3 loss Week 10 / 26-16 loss Week 11)

  • Week 7: Friday, July 22 @ The Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium - 7:00 p.m. MT
  • Week 18: Saturday, October 8 @ IG Field - 5:00 p.m. MT / 6:00 p.m. CT

Need to know

Time to put away the Bomber brooms. Edmonton has been swept by Winnipeg in back-to-back seasons, marking the first time in the pair's history – dating back to 1949 – that the Bombers have swept the Double E consecutive seasons. The last time Edmonton went undefeated against Winnipeg in two or more consecutive seasons was 2013-15 when the Green and Gold went 6-0 against the Bombers over three seasons.
